Survior Oasis Tent - Race Day, Sunday, April 25, 2010, Noon - 3:00 p.m.
A special opportunity to casually gather and mingle with fellow survivors to share your triumphant spirit. Entertainment, refreshments, door prizes, and other special treats will be waiting for you prior to the Race and for a short while afterward.
The Breast Cancer Survivor Recognition Program is sponsored by Zeta Tau Alpha.
Survivor Stroll and Recognition
The Survivor Stroll, honoring years of survivorship, will start from the Survivor Oasis Tent one half hour prior to the Race and will proceed to the Capitol steps for a group photo. Survivors will continue from the steps to the Start area, where they can meet with family and friends for the beginning of the Race. This is your day to shine. It is a special opportunity to share survivorship with thousands of others and give the encouragement only you can give. Come and demonstrate the real presence of resilience, hope, and courage. Your stroll is a testimony and a reassurance of the Power of a Promise. Don’t miss this inspirational occasion.
Survivor T-Shirts and Caps
Breast cancer survivors who wish to be recognized may pick up their complimentary pink cap and pink T-shirt provided by Zeta Tau Alpha. Survivor gear may be picked up at Race packet pick-up opportunities prior to the Race, and also on Race day at the Registration Tent.
Co-Survivor Program
The Co-Survivor Program honors those people who have supported breast cancer survivors throughout their diagnosis and treatment. Co-Survivor pins featuring a pink and white ribbon will be available at the Survivor Oasis Tent as a way for survivors to recognize their co-survivors.
“In Celebration” and “In Memory” Back Signs
We would also like to invite participants to recognize those special people who have been touched by breast cancer. “In Memory Of” and “In Celebration Of” back signs will be available for all Race participants on Race day at the Registration Tent and the Survivor Oasis Tent.
